Austin Dodson is proud to call Overton County, Tennessee his lifelong home. Raised with strong conservative values and a deep respect for community, Austin resides in Rickman, where he continues to serve his neighbors professionally. His commitment to Overton County is not just political—it’s personal. He knows the people, understands the challenges, and is dedicated to building a stronger future for the place he proudly calls home.
A THRIVING CAREER
Austin Dodson has built a thriving career grounded in dedication, hard work, and service. Like many in Overton County, Austin started out in entry-level jobs—working at places like the Rickman Marathon and Dollar General—learning early the value of persistence, responsibility, and grit. Those experiences shaped his work ethic and fueled his drive to build a better future.

He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Technological University’s Whitson-Hester School of Nursing. Austin now has seven years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, where he’s cared for patients in their most critical moments. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing program at Tennessee Tech and will soon graduate as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - bringing even more advanced care expertise to his professional skillset.

In addition to his healthcare career, Austin is a successful real estate investor and business owner. He has made smart, community-focused investments - including commercial property - right here in Overton County. His business sense and long-term vision have led to meaningful local growth, all while continuing his hands-on work within the county.
From humble beginnings to healthcare and business success, Austin remains deeply committed to Overton’s future - investing his time, resources, and heart into the community he proudly serves.

Rooted in my experience as a healthcare professional, successful real estate investor, and servant leader, I will work tirelessly to honor our past while building a brighter, more secure future for generations to come.
